Take half an hour to savor local delights, perhaps indulging in arancini or a Sicilian parmigiana sandwich. Fuel up for the adventure. 10:00 AM: Start from 1970 meters above sea level. Get ready to explore as we head toward the Silvestri craters, nestled around 2000 meters. A Journey Beyond: Venture off the beaten path to the Barbagallo Crater, born in July 2001. Ascend to approximately 2400 meters for panoramic views of Valle del Bove, the grandest caldera of Mount Etna. Pause to recharge and savor a meal amid stunning vistas, you won't easily forget! 1:15 PM: Begin the descent, winding through a world of volcanic wonders. Traverse Grotta Pitagora's lava tube, then experience an exciting dash across volcanic sand channels. (Please note that the route back is distinct from the ascent). ¿Qué llevar?
A wind stopper could be useful, but we have some just in case you don’t have yours. I will provide equipment like safety helmets, trekking poles and trekking shoes if you don't have yours. It is better to wear long socks and take a second pair of socks with you just in case!
